What I’ve Learned in 30 Years
Rockweiler Insulation just celebrated 30 years in business (founded May 5, 1983). I remember my dad working so hard for his customers – up early and to bed late to ensure customers were happy. Although he always has had a stellar work ethic, having your name on the door and your reputation on the line adds a bit more pressure.
As I watched him work and serve customers throughout the years, I have learned a lot. These lessons weren’t always spoken, but taught as he led by example. There are so many lessons. Here are just a few:
- Hold yourself to the highest level of integrity – ALWAYS. If we don’t have our integrity, we don’t have anything. Be honest. No profit is worth sacrificing your values.
- Pay attention to details. A business either succeeds or fails based on details. Don’t be lazy about the little things, as they are what customers notice first.
- Treat every job as if it were your own house. If you wouldn’t do it in your house, don’t do it in somebody else’s house. This includes the type of product that is installed and how, to protecting floors and wearing shoe coverings.
At the end of the day our goal is to help consumers make their homes more energy efficient and, more importantly, to be a responsible corporate citizen by providing jobs for members of our community and helping them to take care of their families. I am very proud of how we serve customers and our employees each day.
